Dear Venus, When we first started dating, my boyfriend used to surprise me by occasionally sending me flowers at work, but now that we've been together for over a year, he never sends me flowers at all anymore. Not even for our anniversary, my birthday, or Valentine's Day! How can I hint to him that I would really love to see a nice bouquet on my desk at work sometime "just because?" ? -A Rose by Any Other Name
Dear A Rose by Any Other Name,
Your problem is a very common one. Many guys like to use gifts of the floral variety to flatter and impress the objects of their affection in the beginning of the relationship. However, as the relationship progresses, some men apparently begin to suffer from a neurological disorder that causes the "thoughtfulness" part of their brain to go dead. Unfortunately, science has yet to find a cure for this problem.
So I suggest unabashed hinting. The next time you two are in the grocery store and pass the little display of bouquets, point and start raving about how pretty those flowers are, how much you love flowers, and how nice it would be to have flowers delivered to you at work so you can have a bouquet of flowers on your desk. (Repeating the word "flowers" as often as possible is necessary since men also sometimes suffer from a neurological disorder that causes them to be oblivious to obvious hints.) If that fails, there is always the time-honored tradition of sending yourself flowers in order to make your boyfriend jealous. If he thinks some "secret admirer" is giving you daisies, chances are he'll be sending you roses in no time. -Venus

SPARKS DID FLY!Testimonies that WillSparksFly.com Help Them Find Someone!
"When I first subscribed at Will Sparks Fly I was very skeptical. I work in the public so I thought "how can I meet a decent person online when I can't day to day?" Was I surprised! I received a flirt and responded. We communicated a while before we actually met but only because we had both been married many years and were nervous about starting over. I really liked him from our first date and things seem to take off a little fast but everything is GREAT!! We respect each other and our lives we lived before meeting and that is a big plus. I am so glad I found Will Sparks Fly and will tell everyone its a hit! I feel like a new person since meeting him and everyone else sees the difference in both of us!"
"I just wanted to thank willsparksfly.com for providing a forum for me to meet somebody. I have met someone through your site and the sparks have really flown! We talked online for a few weeks before actually meeting and have had a lot of fun together. I have been on a couple of other match-making sites and never followed through with them. Your site just seemed more comfortable for both of us. Thank you so very much."
